About the Mendham Players
The official theatre organization of West Morris Mendham High School.
We are a self-funded high school theater program at Mendham High School that produces a fall play, a spring musical, and a dedicated Broadway Night showcase each year. Our program is heavily student-powered, featuring crucial student leadership roles including assistant student directors. Furthermore, our complete stage production environments are entirely custom designed and built from scratch by our student-only stage crew.
Our History
Mendham High School had been putting on shows for many years before Mrs. Oehrlein and Mr. Braccino—two English teachers at WMMHS—decided to officially create the Mendham Players in 2013. Instead of having a traditional club limited only to those who were cast in the performances, the goal was to completely open up a wide variety of secondary fields for the entire student body.
From costume design and house committee work to planning active group fundraisers, Mendham students have the chance to be integrated into many distinct areas of the school's theatre community, even if they decide not to perform directly on the stage.
Our current faculty leaders, Mr. Barthel and Ms. Gilmett, give us the opportunity to put on shows each year, and we truly owe all of our success to them.
